Three Month Old Baby Update!

Welcome back to All About Jemma!

Today I'll be sharing a look at my baby girl Isabelle and her development as she turns three months old!

Isabelle was born on 27th February 2016 so is exactly three months old today! The last three months have absolutely flown by, it feels like I just gave birth, but in the same breath I can't remember life before she arrived!

Isabelle was born weighing 9lb 12oz, and although I haven't had her weighed since she was 6 weeks i can tell by just looking at the little chunk that she is growing well, she will next be weighed at her 4 month check. We decided after speaking to our health visitor to not have her weighed between development assessments and trust our own judgement as third time parents.
She moved into her 3-6 month wardrobe around 3-4 weeks ago, like her brothers she is quite long and everything in her 0-3 wardrobe was becoming way too short!

She has been smiling since she was a few weeks old and now laughs when funny faces are pulled or crazy noises.....admittedly it's Daddy who gets the most laughs from her!

She is so alert now and notices noises and things/people moving around her, she recognises different voices and gets excited when she see's people she may have not seen for a while, like her brothers at the end of the school day. She has only slept through the night once, but goes to sleep around 9pm, until 3am when she has a short feed then goes back to sleep until 5am when she will feed again and usually sleep until at least 8/9am. We are still exclusively breastfed and its going fantastically for both of us, we don't have a set routine and I feed on demand, so far it's working well for us, although I am now pumping and storing with a view to introducing a bottle and sippy cup when appropriate, purely because I EBF Harry until he was 11 months, when I tried to wean him I struggled to get him to take anything....lesson learned! I plan to feed her myself until she is around 1year old.

Physically she is just like her brothers and developing super quick! The evening before she turned 3 months old she rolled over for the first time! The next day she showed us how she can roll from back to front, and back again.....at three months old! I feel she will be like her brothers and be walking by the time she is 10 months old. She loves being held up on her feet, with us taking most of her weight, and hates being flat on her back, unless she's having naked time, the girl just loves her naked time!

Bathtime is always a bit hit, ive never seen a baby kick and splash so much, she's a little water baby just like her daddy which is just adorable to watch! It's one of our favourite times followed by a massage and tummy time, and lots and lots of chatter!
She is teething and dribbling lots, along with lots and hand and thumb chewing!

Overall she is doing wonderfully, and has bought nothing but joy into our family! I will probably share a little update on her every three months here, but if you'd like daily snippets of her cuteness use the links in the sidebar and follow me on Instagram, Facebook and  Twitter, I can also be found on Snap Chat under the username 'Boomtaaa'.

Next on All About Jemma will be my baby must haves, for the first three months, things I have loved and found really useful so far!

For now,

Much Love

New-born Photo Shoot

Hi Guys,
Welcome back!
Today I thought I would share a peek at the result of Isabelle's new-born photo shoot. We booked her session a few months before her due date, we had seen so many of those adorable, squishy pictures of shiny new babies, and decided as we plan on Isabelle being our last baby, that we would capture the moments professionally, something we didn't do with our eldest children.

Isabelle was just 7 days old when our chosen photographer Nicky visited us at home, this was amazing in itself as many of you will know, the last thing you want to do after having a baby is lug yourself and your entire brood to a studio, she came along with her entire setup and seriously cute props! We found the entire thing very relaxed, even when Isabelle took a while to settle, and then ended her shoot by pooping in the basket prop!

We also loved that our sons, Evan and Harry were involved, they loved having pictures taken with their brand new baby sister, but were clearly very pleased these were done first so they could run off upstairs and continue their Saturday gaming! This left our little lady, who I didn't imagine would co-operate! Watching her be moved around and positioned by a professional was amazing, she didn't flinch!

Within a week we were sent a link and password to our photos, we were able to browse the pictures in our own home and place an order online, we couldn't pick just a few images so decided to go with buying all images on a USB.
So, all in all our experience was hugely positive, and I highly recommend splashing out on something like this to expectant parents, especially if you're local and can take advantage of Nicky at Nicky Peter-Nel Photography, her website can be found here. You can see from the few pictures I have shared how talented she is, I can't wait to add them to our home!

I hope you have enjoyed having a peek and reading about our experience, have you had any shoots for your little ones? Feel free to share your experiences and the final results!

For now, I hope you have a great weekend, don't forget to pop over to Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and give me a like and a follow just search for All About Jemma or use the links on the sidebar!

Take care my lovelies!

Much Love

It's Been A Long Time........

Hey!

Am I the only one who begins to sing the Aaliyah song 'Try Again' when they see the words 'it's been a long time'...yea? ok......

Guess who's back!

Hey everyone, I'm back after a very long break from blogging, my last post was back in September, when I announced my pregnancy.
Carrying my third child certainly took it out of me, physically but emotionally too, I didn't feel in a great place, and suffered from pregnancy related anxiety...no doubt not helped by the fact that I was pregnant so soon after a difficult miscarriage. Unfortunately this meant I felt unable to blog, I was really disappointed because I was looking forward to sharing my experience as a plus size woman, and honest "YEP THIS CAN BE SHIT" look at pregnancy from a fat birds point of view, but I had to stick with what kept me sane for those 40 plus weeks.

Anyway, just 9 short weeks ago my husband and I welcomed our third child, a baby girl named Isabelle Susie Jade!! She is beyond perfect and I am still very much in that new-born bubble. I plan on sharing my birth story soon and a little about her first few weeks in the world, I am so excited to share a new twist to All About Jemma, my baby girl!

Look out for lots of Mummy/home related posts in the near future, along with my usual subscription box reviews, including a new one aimed at children which really excites me......told you I was still in that baby bubble!

For now, don't forget to follow me on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snap chat too for daily pics and rambly crap!

Mommy Monday - Sunday Funday!

Hey Hey Ladies and Gents.

I'm back with a short but in my opinion (because it contains pictures of my sons) sweet Mommy Monday post.
After the last few weeks, i could have crawled under my duvet and not come back out, but i decided the best way to get things back on track was to pick myself up and stop feeling sorry for myself!
It actually turned into a really lovely day, we took a drive a little further down the coast to a place called West Bay. I have great memories of walks along the harbour followed by fish, chips and ice cream with my grandparents when I was much younger.

To say it was cold was an understatement, it was ruddy freezing! That didn't stop the boys enjoying an ice cream though! I really enjoyed being out and seeing them laughing and being silly.

We ended our day with very impromptu drinks and laughs with our friends, our sons met at school and love spending time together and luckily we live just around the corner from each other. It was definitely a night Steve and I needed, I felt able to talk about what had happened and how I felt without feeling like I shouldn't be, I feel very grateful to have such great friends who allow me to vent :0) It felt great to laugh and 'forget' for a few hours, it really was a lovely night, although Steve is suffering today after one to many falling down waters!

What did you get up to this weekend? Time spent with family and friends? Duvet days? Whatever it was I hope you had a blast and have a wonderful week!
Posts will likely be fewer than usual at the moment whilst I'm still not quite 'me', definitely look out for a special post next week though as I share how we will celebrate my mums 1 year post stroke survival anniversary! I believe we have a day in Brighton planned with the family, all 10 of us!

For now though take care,

Much Love,
xoxo

An Update........

So, I have been MIA for a few weeks now. I thought about just jumping back into regular posting, or making something up, you know the kinda thing, 'life took over', but i can't, I can't just move on and pretend the last 4 weeks of my life didn't happen.
I know one of the wonderful things about the internet and blogging is that you can be whoever you want, say whatever you want and of course pick and choose what parts of your life you share, but i would like to share this, for two reasons, one, it is a part of my life i will never forget, and two, the subject isn't talked about enough, not openly with honesty.

People who either know me or that have read my blog before will know I have two beautiful sons, I am hugely blessed and love being a mummy, being a mummy and wife is what I do, and I love every second.
In the summer of 2014 my husband and I decided we were ready to add to our crazy family. We were very lucky it didn't take a huge amount of time before we were both stood stunned one bright sunny morning in late March staring at a very positive pregnancy test! Three tests later we were pretty sure, baby number 3 was cooking!
We worked out our dates and came to the conclusion our baby would be born in the last week of November, perfect, I love Christmas more than any adult should, so a Christmas baby, I was beside myself with joy, excitement, happiness....just imagine every positive emotion you've ever felt, mix it all up and yup, that was me! We named the 'baby' Nugget, obviously we didn't know the gender and wanted to be able to talk about the munchkin without calling it, it.
The next nine days went by in a blur of nausea and tiredness, it was wonderful! Things soon began to change on a Saturday night two weeks ago. It began with light bleeding, two weeks passed, two weeks of bed rest, being told one minute we had lost our baby, followed by glimmers of hope when we were told it was in fact still there and had grown. Seeing our little dot in a sac on a screen and falling more in love. Those two weeks were hell, and despite being told things were ok, deep down I knew something wasn't ok, call it mothers intuition, whatever you want, I just knew. And heartbreakingly I was spot on.
On Sunday 19th April 2015, at 12:05 pm, at home I miscarried our tiny, tiny nugget.
Now there are no more words, I am numb and my heart hurts, I can't cry, the tears just won't come. Some will say it is silly to feel how I do, that 'it' wasn't even a person. But to me and Steve he or she was our third child, and we loved that child before it was even conceived.
For now I am healing, physically and mentally, everything is still so raw, but I felt I needed to get something out. I am incredibly lucky to have two healthy, happy, beautiful sons, they are my world and I will continue to treasure every second I have with them and their Daddy xx

For those of us who have undergone the trauma and complex feelings following miscarriage, a little of that pain remains in a corner of ones heart forever. - Barbara Jackson.

Mommy Monday - Our Easter Home Decor!

Hey Hey!

Finally back with a short but sweet post!
My boys decided this year that they would like to put up some Easter decorations, so, we went off to our local Sainsburys.
I love their home department and adore all the seasonal bits and bobs!

We didn't go overboard, just a few Easter-y things dotted around to brighten our home....and of course, it wouldn't be my home if I didn't sneak in a new Yankee candle, Strawberry Buttercream......yum!

Do you decorate for Spring or Easter? How do you celebrate? I will be putting together lots of clues for our sons to find on Sunday morning with eggs and gifts waiting for them at the end!

Keep and eye out for more rambling from me really soon!

Much Love,

Mummy Monday! A Little Look At My Family!

Hey Hey!

Welcome back to my blog.
I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend and a great start to the new week.

It's half term here for us, so I thought i would do a little post about my boys! I thought it might be fun to share a little bit about my family with you lovely people.

Steve and I have been together for very nearly 13 years, and married for almost 10. By the time we celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary we were almost 6 months pregnant with our first little munchkin! Evan came into the world in 2006 and changed us forever!

My Eldest Son Evan

He's a handsome chap isn't he!
He is so incredibly kind and thoughtful, and totally laid back, just like his daddy! He's unbelievably intelligent too, the boy can do maths that baffles me! His love's in life are his scooter, video games, his best friends...AKA 'The Crazy Bulldog Gang' and anything non vegetable!
When Evan was one we got a little surprise, we discovered we were expecting again! Totally not planned so soon but we were in love instantly.
In 2008 our little firecracker came screaming into the world. Meet Harry!

As you can see from the little selection of pictures, Harry is completely individual! He has a fiery personality and keeps us on our toes, he also keeps us laughing too, he's a tiny little comic!

His loves in life are video games, dressing up and pizza......oh, and chocolate cake!

My boys, are quite frankly, my world, so will no doubt feature highly as this blog grows, I hope you'll enjoy the little snippets of them as they grow.
I've never really known what I wanted from life, but as soon as I became a mummy I knew, it's probably the most rewarding job in the world, although they drive me batcrap crazy at times I wouldn't be without them!

My boys on Weymouth Beach

So that's it for today, I hope you enjoyed this little snippet!
I'll be back later in the week so watch out for more ramblings, don't forget you can also follow me on my other social network outlets!

Have a great evening!
Much Love,
